Old trashy park hunting.:fisher:

Club member buddy and I have been working an old trashy park for the past several hunts and since the last 6 silver outing between us, pickings have been getting slim. Well, a couple of slim dimes for me and a silver charm. I got the silver charm and some clad and a couple of wheat cents yesterday and today got the rest of the clad, wheats and the 34 Mercury dime. The dime was a little handicapped as about an inch to the left of the dime was a smashed, on edge bottle cap. Probably would have missed that one if I didn't have the 5" coil on the LTD. You will note the charm is marked silver. I don't recall ever digging a silver item that was actually marked "silver." My buddy hadn't snagged a silver as out hunting time was drawing to a close. I turned around to walk over to him and all of a sudden his arms started flapping and he was doing the happy dance. I just knew it was either something old or big. As it turned out, it was big. A well worn, but none the less, beautiful, 1920 Walking Liberty half. I did a little jig with him and we called it a wrap. HH jim tn

Excellent finds. Congrats!!:clapping:

wow, 1920! walking liberty! i plucked a '44 out of the ground and was excited over it for like a week. :D i might not have survived a 1920.

I especially like that silver charm ! WTG  cch

Dang it.... I just about had myself convinced to sell my F75 LTD. I always did like that 5" coil too. I've used it in really bad ground with high tension power lines close. Set on 99 sens and it was so quiet I thought it was off. The big coil is a different story though. Thanks for the post and pics.... I have a hunted out park down the road. I am going to go try the old LTD again over there.

Looks like a nice minie ball on that plate Jim? Quite a few finds and decent age on the coins!
