Olmsted Point, Tioga Road, Yosemite National Park

I was up in Yosemite NP for 2 nights of camping back in June of this year, and on route to Tenaya Lake I stopped at Olmsted Pt. Olmsted Pt, as you can clearly see in the video, provides a great view of the backside of Half Dome, as well as a side view of Cloud's Rest (the high peak to the left of Half Dome in the 3rd or 4th photo). This area of Yosemite is technically considered part of Yosemite's backcountry, although in the summertime Tioga Road is teeming with tourists.

Photos taken with Canon T3, and kit lens at about 8 AM at about 8300 Ft.

Hope everyone enjoys, HH. Oh, and there is music. :)

If you would like a little bit larger view of the photos, you may want to double click the video to take you directly to Youtube where you will be able to do so. :)

Don't sell your kit lens short...some are capable of producing some great pictures as you just proved. Thanks for sharing, you did great. Kelley (Texas) :)

Hey those are some nice pictures . Looked like a great trip with good scenery .Good photos .

I am hoping to have one more camping trip in Yosemite this summer. :)

How many trails are there? You folks have a great park system. Also, if you see a bear or other good wildlife, hope you get a picture of them. Kelley (Texas) :)

Not sure how many trails there are in Yosemite, but for the most part, you can start on just about any trail in the park and eventually get ot where you are going, although it may be a 50 mile hike over mts and through valleys. :) I believe there are over 800 miles of trails in Yosemite.

As for Wildlife, I have only seen marmots, squirrels, and some deer on my many trips to Yosemite since 2000. Also a coyote, but never a black bear. :)
