Omega 11" DD

Well what can i say.
This is a great coil.
I tried a 10" x 12" SEF coil. And now this 11" .
They both paform the same with an extra 1 1/2" - 2 1/2" depth over the Std 10" coil, but the 11" is lighter and is better to swing longer.
In fact the Omega might just have become my No 1 detector for land ( i have a Minelab Explorer SE arm killer ). The SE will just be used for hunting the beach.
I'm in the UK and got mine from Regtons. They gave a quick service even over the Christmas period.

i love the 11in DD on my G2.. if you dont mind me asking what depth are you getting with the omega and 11in coil? on coins.. im thinking of buying one. thanks alot

Not Chaddy but can share. I'm in Germany btw. I hunt 90" of the time with the 11"DD on my Omega. (I have gotten around 5" - 6" solid sounding targets with my 5" coil.)

I have dug two hammered coins (that hit very softly) at around 6" or 7". I dug another hammered (larger, quarter width) at around 7" or 8" and that hit nicely.

I normally get strong hits on high conductor coins (dime and nickel sized) down to 6" or 7". (The soil has no mineralization on all finds mentioned)

It seems down to about 7" or 8" I trust finding a coin if it is a high conductor. I am not sure if I will get much more depth than 9" on a coin. (Well, more on quarter sized)

Most of my coins are found in and around iron (that is really the only trash).

Wonder what others are getting...

Yes, all with the 11".

I wonder if anyone tried those coils from the Ukraini, remember they got good depth in those videos? They were quite large.

Thought Jbow tried to order one, as well as a few others?

The 11" coil on the Omega really is a great coil and does get reasonable depth. It hits dime size targets in the 6-8" depth range nicely and quarter size a bit deeper. The hits don't blow your head phones off, but are ample tone to dig. And, it is a killer coil in trash. I'm frequently amazed when digging a coin that was on edge among a bed of trash. HH jim tn

I thought about ordering one but decided to wait.

I have a friend who has been hunting a site where the finds are now few and deep. It has fairly neutral ground, sandy with a layer of pine needles. There is very little trash at this site. He was using the Omega with the 11" coil. He was running in AM and listening for a change in the threshold tone. When he would hear the threshold change he would kick the straw away and get a better signal. Straw and ground included he dug nine minnies and a hat pin up to 14" deep.

I'll tell you without hesitation... I rarely dig anything approaching that depth around here. I am looking forward to trying a couple of machines there in AM. I went there once with him and didn't find anything. IIRC, I tried the V3 and E-TRAC.

The Omega with the 11" coil is really good, loves nickels, but can get noisy with higher sens... at least to me.
