Omega and civil war bullet

Only had about a 1/2 hour to hunt yesterday so I went to the fairgrounds area. This place has gave up some civil war bulltes but it also has a lot of pull tabs and other trash you would expect from an area like this. I cranked up the disc to 65 because I was after deep bullets or silver with the little time I had to hunt. I was only going to dig the faint, deeper sounding targets. Got a faint signal that was jumping in the 70's to 80's range. Pinpointed it and it read 9 inches. The ground was pretty hard so it took me some time to dig down that deep. I checked the hole after I got down to 7 inches or so (my digger has a 6 inch blade) and I got a signal with my pinpointer so I knew it was still deeper. After digging another 2 inches or so out popped this bullet. I was pretty impressed because the bullet is not that big and this was with the stock coil.

That is an impressive depth for such a small signal. This gives the Omega a lot of credit for it's capabilities. Thanks for sharing and...good job! The Omega is sounding better and better for me as a good back-up for my F-75.

I know others and myself have been talking up the DD coil on the Omega, but as your post reminds us, the stock coil is no slouch by any stretch of the imagination. The depth reading on the Omega is as accurate as any I've ever seen. Makes it really nice for precision recoveries doesn't it?

about the Omega the deepies sound pretty strong on the audio. Glad you found some goodies with it.

Thanks for the comments. I have to admit it really suprised me that the omega picked it up that deep. I did not think it would go that deep. I guess it proved me wrong....haha. When I have some more time I will hit the area again and see if I can dig anymore deep ones. It has been kind of dry here so hopefully we will get some rain to soften up the ground a little.

Yes BuckeyeBrad the depth reading on the omega is as accurate as any I have used. If it is a coin sized object it is always just about right on.
