Took the Omega and 10" DD coil for a test drive today. and here is what went down.
First thing I noticed was substantial EMI with this setup.
Did find a few coins and lots of trash, but had to run sens no higher than 60. Anything above that and there was a lot of popping in the headphones.
Changed coils back the the stock 10" conc coil, and could runs sens at max with no problems.
We don't have any high tension power lines in my neck of the woods. All power lines are strung up on wooden poles.
Where I was hunting, there were just such poles about 125 yards away, and as I walked closer, I could here the EMI, and would adjust sens down a little until it stopped.
For additional comparison, I put the new 10 DD coil on the Goldbug Pro and that set up was sweeeeeeeet.
I think Fishers new 10" DD coil is the bomb when coupled with my Goldbug Pro, but my be too much when paired with the Omega.
I do not intend this to be a negative against either the machine or the coil, just what I experienced.
Maybe Dave J. could chime in and explain this better than I.
HH and good luck to all.
Tony
