Omega seems to ID poorly

I am not giving up at all. I am just frustrated that I don't seem to be finding a consistency of VDI that allows me to have confidence in what I am digging. Oddly, to me any way, I feel like I have that with the F2 and other detectors I have. The O8 seems to be the strongest detector of the 4, but not as consistent with IDing.
That is my frustration. :detecting::rant::nopity:

Try two things with the 5" DD coil:

1. do your FastGrab to ground balance. Once that is done.......switch to All Metal mode........increase the G.C. (ground control) upwards by 2-3 numbers. Why? The Omega is so sensitive that FastGrab properly balanced, will read the most minute ground mineral changes. The 2-3 upward adjustments eliminates alot of this annoyance noise, with little to no effect on depth.

2. If suggestion #1 does not work, try reducing sensitivity 20 points from where you have it set when using the 11" DD coil.

3. If #1 & #2 don't work individually, then do both of them at the same time.

Trying to save you from having to do a ship back to First Texas.

Thanks Terra, I have been doing a quick GG and checking fairly often that I was not a bar off when I was not over iron. Today I found my fourth ring (this month) dirt fishing, a dozen pennies and two nickles. I followed your advice about 3 points over and seems to have helped. :please:
Tom
