.?? On the X1Probe

Hey Everyone

Is the upper shaft for the E Trac the same one used as the SE Pro and SE. A member is asking if I have one for sale. Thanks...

Philo NY

PS They look the same...

No, it's the same one (stock upper shaft).---In other words, the X-1 is mounted on the same Minelab shaft that comes with the Explorers/Etracs.---There isn't a different shaft used for the X-1.

True, that is why you could send your own upper shaft into Ralph at Suray to save yourself some money on the cost of a new one.

No as it is stated it is the exact same shaft. The option was when buying a X-1

1. You could buy it with a shaft that Ralph supplied
2. Or you could send your shaft in and he would mount the probe on it.

It is a moot point now since the X-1 has been discontinued dut to cost restraints. Check out the Sunray Products forum. Now Ralph stated that he will be able to do warranty work and fix existing probes but will not continue manufacture of them.

Same shaft, but installation of the probe switch box requires a hole to be drilled in the shaft. This allows routing the cable, from the switch box to the detector, to be inside the shaft. Call Ralph at SunRay, he can explain and also let you know if he still has any X1 probes for installation. Ralph has always been very helpful whenever I have called him.....

It is my understanding Ralph does not have any probes for sale anymore. All he has are parts to cover any warranty issues that might arise. However, a call never hurts.
