One Gorgeous Gulden

I was surprised to find this this silver 1960 Netherlands 2&1/2 Gulden at one of my local mid-west american parks. The size is a little bit larger than an american half and a little bit smaller than a silver dollar. About six inches down and in the same hole as a piece of chain link fence, which probably helped to hide it from other gulden-grabbers over the years. No match for the CTX though. ;) Also found a sterling silver cross and a handful of clad to round off an afternoon's hunt.

A 1960 6" deep! Wow. How deep are the really old coins? Nice find.

Thanks. Many of the parks that I hunt were re-landscaped back in the 1980's as part of a citywide project. A lot of back-filling took place. Probably even a few zincs out of reach in some spots.
