One more-any best pinpointer recommendations for the G2?

i have the sunray probe on my mxt and really like it. i used the garrett pro pointer when i used tesoro and loved it. i just bought the teknetics G2 and will most likely buy another pro pointer. its water resistant can wash it off under running water. very durable. the only thing i dont like about the sunray is it stays on 1 machine..you cant grab any machine and go..i think from here on out i will use the propointer since i am not married to just 1 brand of detector..hope this help.

Chris, Like I said, I tried the F-X 1 Sunray and it worked great, but being a relic hunter, sometimes in the bushes, I opted to stay with my Garrett Probe. If you do decide on the Sunray, it adds very little weight to the machine thou..............Mark

Garrett pro pointer. No bling, just one tough little machine. If it is too loud for you, just make a couple wraps with black electric tape around the speaker holes, keeps the moisture and dirt out too. Txquest

Mo, how does the Sunray work with the G2? I've used a Sunray with the DFX, but I'm wondering exactly how that you use it with the G2 because the G2 doesn't have a trigger like the DFX. If you don't mind, quickly give me the rundown on the procedure of using it with the G2. I'm thinking about getting a Sunray for my G2. Thanks!

Handheld, for the money, is totally owned by Garrett.........bar none........
And Sunray's rock if ya want a machine attached unit.

Has anyone recommended to Garrett Pro Pointer yet? :heh: But, I totally agree, Garrett Pro hands down. Great machine.

Works about the same, or you can click the knob into AM mode. I only used mine for one trip out and it was just not for me......MO

Garrett hands down. Its very tough. Can switch from machine to machine and you wont forget and leave it on and not be detecting anything like I use to do at least 2-3 times a hunt with my sunray.

MO, thanks for the info. I just ordered the G2 from Bart. I'm trying to make up my mind between the Sunray and the Garrett Pro. I thought about getting the Pistol but everyone keeps telling me that it isn't made sturdy enough, it's bulky, and it looks like you need a permit to carry it (that might be a good thing depending on where you are detecting). I personally like having a little depth while using a pinpointer (in some situations), but not really that much depth. I have thought and thought about it. I'm close to just flipping a coin. Heads: Garrett, tails: Sunray.

Thanks for the great information in many of your posts.

Yes, The FX-1 will work on the Gold Bug SE and the G2, don't know about the Omega thou......MO
