ORX vs Deus

If a company like XP Deus comes out with a specific detector designed for gold prospecting then that right there tells you that the original XP Deus can not be programed to do things specific to gold prospecting. If it was as simple as reprogramming they sure wasted a lot of time or engineering and design.

Willee,
You are right in a since....
Xp made the ORX for the gold market without all the bells and whistles of the Deus so they could sell them at a reduced rate.
The Deus can be programed to hunt gold just as well as the ORX if not better..
Works for me...

Deeper DPR 600 was designed and manufactured by XP in France and sold under the Depar DPR name. Depar is a big mining distributor for Africa. DPR 600 has wireless, selectable multi frequencies and the same settings as Goldfield on the Deus. It has four variations of the Deus Goldfield program which are all threshold based all metal modes with one tone and Iron Amplitude Rejection adjustments to discriminate iron. There are two empty slots for customizing gold prospecting programs. The Depar DPR 600 has a similar display to the Deus. It does not have any of the coin/jewelry/relic preset programs.

The Orx was designed and manufactured by XP in France. It has wireless, selectable multi frequencies and the same settings as Goldfield on the Deus. It has two variations of the Deus Goldfield program, one for milder soil conditions and one for higher mineralization and smaller gold. It also has two coin/jewelry/relic programs which are the same as Deus Fast and Deus Deep. The Orx has a different display than the Deus, 3 tone audio, and ID normalization for the HF and X35 coils.

So the Orx is not a DPR 600. It is a hybrid of the Deus.

I have an Orx. I'm not just running my mouth or speculating.

Everyone here is wrong about the ORX, it's not even related hardware wise except the coil go the deus. It's a machine developed by a different company in Africa that XP liscensed and decided to rebrand for the global market.

It has some features that are worse and in some ways it's better than the deus. It's a gold detector at heart but can be used for coins and stuff as well.

Sorry Zinc Penny but you need to do some better research. I have owned a Deus and now own the ORX. What I wrote above is as accurate as I can make it except for my computer automatically typing Deeper instead of Depar. You are welcome to have your opinions about the origins of the ORX. I have the experience with both detectors including the components and the box the ORX came in that have XP all over them and made in France, and I have done my research. Some of your statements are just not correct.

I owned a deus and own a ORX right now. And not only that but I know one of the designers of the Deus. If you want to go back and forth ill go get a statement from XP directly on the matter to solve it 100%.

Hi Zinc Penny,

You are more than welcome to contact anyone you know about the origins of the ORX. It is a really nice detector and so far I'm happy with it. I just want others who might be interested in it to have all of the information they need to make a decision. I don't care whose right. I'm on these forums to learn.
