Other than Google Earth, any other links for older satelite photos?

I remember being able to find satelite photos of my rural Northern California Foothills on the internet back in 1998-1999. However, when I look at the historical images on Google Earth they never go back this far (at least in my area). So there was another company back then online who sold these photos in any size you wanted in hard copy by mail order. Anyone know of any links to any of these other companies/institutions that have the older sattelite pics for sale or available online? A big thanks to anyone who can help with info!

Might check with usgs.
They were terra server,Now they are MSR Maps.
