Paying to try out your CTX3030

Kilohertz

New member
Hello,

I am looking to test out the CTX at a place of your choosing in the Seattle area. Will pay $40 to handle your machine for 30 mins at a park just to compare side by side with my deus. For anyone interested, please PM me and we can meet somewhere. Thanks!

Happy Hunting

It sounds like you want to throw $40 away....... what is 30 minutes going to teach you? If you haven't spent at least 100 hours on a CTX, you wouldn't even begin to understand the CTX ..... IMHO.

BTW you don't have PM privileges for at least 30 days yet.

Might be a better idea to get together with someone as good with the CTX as you are with your Deus and hunt side by side, comparing signals, etc. If I was in your area, there wouldn't be any need to pay either.

never owned a Deus but from what I have read doesn't ID so well in modern trash if that is true then buy a CTX if its not true then keep doing what your doing.

Yes, that would be the best way to do it; and don't bother with anyone that would take your money for that. I'm sure there are plenty of guys who would help you out for free. Check out any nearby detecting clubs. I've got both machines, five years with the Deus and two with the CTX. From my experience, the Deus will find what the CTX misses, & the CTX will find what the Deus misidentifies. One has great target separation, the other outstanding ID ability. I currently use my CTX for old coin and silver hunting in parks and other areas with modern trash. 6" coil is a must for the trashy spots. Deus comes out for the older iron infested sites where the amount of aluminum trash is less.

One requirement that precedes any comparative trial, and that will be search-head compatibility......'format' and 'size'.

DD and diameter.

That's about the only relationship factor that is feasibly comparable, between two very differently functioning detectors.

Let the CTX find an 'indicated' deep target, and then let the DEUS sample it using all....approx....( 4, 8, and 18 kHz ) for best result.

The main worry a deus user would encounter....is possible fatigue!

It's all good fun, but reality kicks in after a few hours........

I'd have both if I could afford them, for each will excel over the other, depending on the site, circumstances...and the guy or gal's abilities to tune into

the functionalism's offered by each....Matt

Might try tying a boat anchor to your deus to get the full CTX effect. It's well balanced but still will be a huge difference from what you are used to. JJ

I own both also and will get rid of neither. The CTX has the best ID up to 8 in of any machine I have ever used. I have used the SE Pro and Etrac and they were good but not like the CtX. I use the CTX and CZ 6a to hunt parks for old coins also. The Deus is its own beast. Just as deep as the CTX but the ID is not as good bit in full tones can pretty much tell if it's a coin or not.
