Had a good day hunting, rained six inches here in two days after two months of record drought here in Georgia, but I still cant Pin Point with my detector .

I have a DD 2 Loop and still have to dig a Giant hole to find my target.

Where is the sweet spot on this loop, can anyone help me, Thanks Ward
 
Put a coin on the ground, raise your coil up off the ground 5-6 inches and pinpoint it, lower the coil and mark your coil where the coin is at. It should be right in front of the mounting ears.
 
I might add for those who do not know, that the VCO should be on in every program you use. When you hit the highest tone while pin pointing, the target should be right in the middle of the coil right in front of the rod attachment.
 
When pinpointing using a DD coil I sweep the coil from left to right, and then I move my body 90 degrees and repeat. Once you do this a few times, it will always be right in the cross-hairs.
 
Also when Pin Pointing always watch for the lowest depth for centering the target after VCO gets you very close. Yazoo
 
When I got my V3i I found it hard to pin point I started pin pointing like the way Neil is doing it and now I hit the target every time:twodetecting::cheers:
 
Neil's system wouldn't work for a segment of my targets, because I many times don't get tone at 90 degrees off of prime tone. I suppose most park hunters would always have giid results with that system thoughm since everything is nearly at surface level. martin
 
The problems with pinpointing some people are having have nothing to do with the detector being a V3i. The pinpointing problems they are having is because the coil is a DD coil, many people are familiar with using concentric coils. Many detectors would be harder to pinpoint with because they don't have all the V3i features like VCO and depth readings.

Pin pointing the target from varying angles should work with most good target regardless of the depth. Again more experienced operators have less problems. If one pin pointing method, sweet spot, 90 degree method, sliding method, doesn't work, I just use another. I find the V3i as easy to pin point with as any detector I have owned. ROB
 
I run my All Metal sensitivity at 90 and it pinpoints as deep as I want it to go..... 12 inches or better.

You bet Mike, the Lesche Raven has proven indispensable when hunting in open fields, for relics especially. :clapping: Rob watched me recover several bullets in the 12-14 inch range so I'm not exaggerating one bit. To think I was happy with 8 inch targets with the DFX several years ago...........:rofl:
