I don't hunt parks very often. I usually hunt ghost towns or other wooded sites. While testing my Sovereigns on deep targets at a park yesterday it became obvious that I need a better pinpointer to keep my holes small. I have a Whites pinpointer but it's pretty weak. I know the first response will be the Sunray probe but I hipmount everything and I'm not sure if that can be done with the Sunray without tripping over wires. Has anyone used the DetectorPro Pistol Probe or Pocket Pro probe? Not sure if the pulse probes and Sovereign would interfere with each other. Thanks!

Crazyman: I have a Detector Pro Pistol Probe and you don't want it around your multi-frequency machine. I have minelabs myself. They say the Garrett probe works well around all machines but I have'nt used one. But I'm sure you don't want the Pistol Probe. Hope this helps. HH 
My number one choice is the Sun Ray S-1, the next one would be the Uni Probe that is built into the headphones as it goes deep and small diameter to get into small place plus the headphone part is very good and the cord is replaceable. The next one would be the Garrett pin pointer as it is the best of the hand held probes I have ever seen, but don't have the depth the Sun Ray or Uni Probe has, but better than any of the others I have tried. I havent notice any interference with my Sovereigns with any of these 3.

I must say i liked the garett pro pointer but it did or does interfear whith the compadre because they are both 12khz i just turn off the volume when digging the pro pointer can reach down about 2" so you should not damige coins but the pistol probe reaches 5" but i sopose it will interfear whith the detector i would just turn the volume down

The Garrett Pro Pointer is the only choice. I like it much better than the Sunray Probe for many reasons. If you skim down this forum there's a thread I posted comparing them called something like "An Alternative To The Sunray Probe". Also, super tuned the ProPointer will get down there about 4 to 5" in the field. 3 1/2" in my garage but that's due to it automaticly adjusting further down due to nearby electrical noise. Even regular non-tuned depth is very good, but I love super tuning on those deeper targets I can't hear otherwise. Popping with a screwdriver really saves time and racks up your clad totals fast.
It doesn't bother my GT at all or vise versa, even with the 15x12 coil on. However, a friend using an M6 says the ProPointer makes his machine unstable when sitting it on the ground digging holes. I told him to loosen his coil nut just enough to where the coil will automaticly sit flat on the ground when he lays the machine down. I bet with the coil not sitting sideways in the air it won't be picking up the close frequency the ProPointer is putting out.
I've noticed (not due to the ProPointer) that if I have my GT maxed out in sensitivity some times when I sit it on the ground the machine will get slightly unstable making noise. I just flip my remote pinpoint switch into pinpoint and this makes the machine nice and quiet when that happens. It's never a problem even with max sensitivity at most places but some times there is just enough electrical noise in the air to cause chatter with the coil sticking up in the air. Flipping to PP fixes that. His M6 doesn't offer a fixed switch pinpoint (it's pull trigger which springs back when let go), so that's not an option. The coil laying flat should fix it for him.
The Garrett is way better than even the new Whites probe, the cheap Centech, and probably anything else on the market at it's price or cheaper. I'd say a close second is the Vibraprobe. It's a PI unit with more depth and waterproof, but I think it's bigger and heavier and will turn on if flipped upside down in your trunk (no on/off switch).

Rick is right the S-1 Probe on the Sovereign works great.Wished the X-1 on the Explorer worked as well .The Uni Probe is on my future buy list.The Garrett Pro pointer has a large following.HH Ron
I mostly use the pocket uniprobe as it works with all the machines i have, i also had the sunray S-1 and have the X-1 for the etrac but find i reach for the uniprobe more often,
@ hershey1 , if you use the explorer or etrac do a noise cancel with the probe switched on pointing towards he coil, this will reduce almost to nill the interference

Kered: I've done what you suggested a few times and it did help but then go maybe 50yds. and everything changed so I got a Sun Ray X-1 probe and the interference problems were over. Some of this TN. ground changes often within a short distance. Noise Cancel often at some places. HH
