NO ! They're not here yet! Now I'll get 87 emails asking me if the picture means they are here and why haven't I got mine yet !
This is just one fresh off assembly at COILTEK. As a matter of fact this one is for a SD / GP machine as the ones for the Explorer and Quattro have the curly cord on the plug end.
Just thought you might want to see what the finished product will look like.
Quite a handsome coil if you ask me.
So far the target date to ship from Australia is March 14th, pray really hard and maybe I will have them shipping from me to you on the 18th. I would hope for the 17th, but everything would have to go perfect for that to happen.
With coil cover it is coming in at 16 ounces.
Take care!

You should have them make a few with shorter uncurled cables for folks that use the X1 probe.. I know if I had a choice thats the one I would get

Being a 2 month newby, whats all the fuss about this new coil. What's the difference. I bought my ExII with a 10 in. coil. Please advise.
Thanks Fred D. N.Y.

If it works well on the beach it just might become my main coil!!!

Frank,
I dropped you a line but it may not have gotten there - there is a spot just in front of the mounting point where it hits dead on with the Quattro. Several people that have tried it that have X-1's felt that it was accurate enough to not require the X-1 for most recoveries. That's a matter of personal preference however - I do not want to get into a long discussion on that topic.
If anyone is interested, I can post a photo with the sweet spot highlighted.

will be a friction fit.
However, you know the old haste makes waste thing. Well this first batch of coil covers was not as tight as we would have liked them to be. So to make sure we didn't have people losing covers in rough surf, we taped them on.
We will remold the covers later to get a really tight tight friction grip.
Take care!

This tape was used on my Joey coil too when I got it and it really seal the cover and after over a years use it still is sealing the cover so there is no reason to take it off the clean the cover as it is well sealed.
