I've been asking this of almost every coin I've dug since I started swinging and at long last Miss Liberty is in the house, a little worn but I'll take her. The real icing on the cake though is that I found this coin at the old homeplace. Finally, a coin that reflects the age of an 1845 homestead. I'm pretty sure the neighbors heard me yelling, I couldn't be happier. I had almost convinced my self that there was nothing left to find there except square nails and pull tabs, I've never been so glad to be wrong.

As soon as I saw the header of yours Steve I knew I better get a beer first!

WOW!:beers:

Nice find and it looks that they are in very good condition.

Congrats

Don

It's just one coin, front and back but thanks. There's nothing like making great finds at the place where you grew up.

Steve

WTG B2H you now have one more than I do!! :clapping:

I am happy for you. What a great find!

I don't recall what part of PA. you are from, but I was in Lancaster area this week end and I was in awe of all the old houses I saw. They are everywhere! What a difference crossing the Appalachians make.

John,

I'm in eastern PA but smack in the middle from north to south. Unfortunately those old homesteads are vanishing thanks to land development. The poor economy has hushed things for a while but nothing good lasts forever. I guess it's a double edged sword.

Have you ever checked out old topo's for some old homesteads. Maybe some are in a fields. I saw one old abandon stone house with grass waist high. It got me drooling. I was going to try to get permission, to MD a couple places, but the ground was like a rock for lack of rain. So I stuck to the tot lots. Well, I didn't have a lot of time. Only 3 hours. I was suppose to be with my wife. It is our 30th wedding anniversary. We visited the towns of Fertility. Intercourse, and Blue Ball. We ended up in the town of Paradise. We did the tourist thing and went for an Amish buggy ride.

Well, well, well. I had a small hunt today that nabbed me another silver dime that I won't be posting now. That 48D Rosie sure looks pale all of a sudden. Great find and even sweeter because of where you found it! Never found a seated coin and I have been wishing for one for years. In fact, I only found a few Barbers with my Ace and none yet with my 2500. Maybe your luck will rub off.

Chris

Luck is the key word here Chris, I can not believe the luck I've been having this year. With this kind of good fortune I'm thinking I should add capped bust silver to my wish-list. I'ts a coin I've never considered based on the assumption that I'll never find one.

In reply to a recent post of a seated dollar find I wrote that anything seated was at the top of my list, I guess this moves the Benny half into the top spot but I don't think I'll be so lucky finding one of those.
