Pocket Spill

SAGITTARIUS

New member
It was already hot when I finally got out to hunt in the park established in 1924. I had decided to dig only one good signal as I still had other jobs to do. Ten feet from the curb I got a bouncing, mainly upper right signal. With the good signal from 2 sides decided to dig. About 8 inches down I found 2 rusted iron slugs, a 1944 wheat penny and a 1943 mercury dime all laying together. You gotta love these Explorers!!!

40's spill. Those iron "plugs" could possibly be steel pennies. I have found a few in 40's spills.

Steel cents would be a good bet.

I beleive lud and Larry (IL) are right. The 2 rusted iron slugs were probably steel pennies. Thanks for all the comments .
