my Garret pro pointer is starting to pulse all the time almost become unreliable tried new batteries everything I could think of is there something else that can cure this

Retire it and get a White's TRX, you won't be sorry.
Same thing happened to my old Garrett PPer. They do work great when new but once you pile on the miles, they eventually wither and finally crap out all together.

Make sure when u turn it on,its touching the ground. I recommend the Nokta RS pointer.I just got one and its really nice.I have a video in the post below showing it.Good luck

Your Pro Pointer has broken coil, its will never work normal again. One possibility to send to Garrett or? cut in to the pieces like I do and just learn how coil looks. Very fragile

When mine got quirky, I put a quarter in the cap to put more pressure on the battery and contacts. For the last couple of years it's been fine with that fix.

I'll try that
Otherwise it will get sent in

I tried that to (with thick tape behind the battery). It got better "at home", but it started in the field again. I tried other things like leaving the board in rice for 24h to get possible moisture out of it. This only worked at the beginning. Few days ago I had the choice of throwing it away, or try something radical (removing 2 red wires).

I decided not to waste my money for a new pinpointer. In the second part of this video I'm showing what I did: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_n10p3HEWlM
It works perfect since then. All the problems are gone.

I have two tinytec probes and never any trouble. I think some of the newer ones have too much electronics built into them. Does anyone know where I can buy another one? My daughter needs one.

You've got a lot of patience! After 15 minutes of monkeying around with it, i would of used the thing for target practice like when one of my hard drives crashed!

Why Garrett doesn't fill the entire PCB cavity with polyurathane or similar would not only prevent PCB board flexing/wire movement but also allow the PPer to be more moisture resistant maybe even waterproof if the right sealed switch is used and its rubber membrane is sealed right. Yeah it would be heavier, a little more expensive and unrepairable but totally waterproof, sturdier and reliable enough for possibly a lifetime warranty.

I lost my patience few times in the field. The last time I threw it against a tree. If my mod wouldn't work, I would throw it in the trash for sure.

Maybe they don't wont it to last "too long".
Garrett has now competition, maybe they come with something new soon.
