Promising site:thumbup:

Hi everyone,

I managed to secure permission to hunt a corner lot in town that has a house that was built in 1876. I spent a few hours working on one sidewalk strip before it got too hot. I'm a pretty slow hunter, so I didn't get too far down the first strip, but the results look very promising so far. I found three nice keepers, eleven clad coins and the usual trash (pull tabs, screw caps, foil balls, & whatzits). The Chinese coin I believe is a Shan Lung T'ung Pao commemorative issue cash coin minted between 1795 and 1799. The 1895-S Barber and 1905 "V" nickel both came from the same hole next to the sidewalk at 6" deep. I'll be heading back there to work some more of the area tomorrow. It will probably take me several days to cover the large yard--I hope they prove as fruitful as today.

Thanks for looking. Good luck on your next hunt! ---Cladiator
