they give an unmistakable as well as unique HIGH sound that screams "SILVER" if your coil goes accross it.

I won't use anything else....PERIOD.

I have three pairs in case something happend while in the field. I am rendered helpless without them.

Lots of GREAT headphones out there for different types of hunting.

I have some buddies who relic hunt and they like Gray Ghosts and some others...but for the kind of hunting I do...which is deep turf silver hunting...Sun Ray Pro Golds are the best I've found.

I'm sure others will have varying opinions and that's what the forum is for:thumbup:....but mine is what it is. I will use nothing else.

I second this, I use only Sunray Pro Gold headphones...on the beach...in storms with the ocean roaring loud like a frieght train.

I use the standard Gray Ghost headphones. I have been deaf in my right ear my whole life, so having one volume knob is more practical for me. If they made Sunray Pro Gold's that way I would probably buy a pair.

I'll get in line with the SunRay Golds users for comfort and quality........ none better.

I just ordered a pair of sunray golds never have used headphones much while detecting I use a SE and a Eureka gold hope they work well on both

I use the Killer B's and really like them. They are built really well and have very good sound quality. Price is not too crazy either :)

I really appreciate all the input on the headphones, i'm leaning towards the Sunray pro golds, That being said does anybody have a heads up on where i could get a set, maybe by one of the sponsors of this site?
Thanks again everyone !!

I guess if i was paying attention i would have seen that big boy hobbies had a link posted on there comment !

I'm a little late on chiming in here but I recently got a pair of Sunray Pro Golds and I can/will never look back. They fit so well, are built great and the difference in sound is day and night. I dont think I will sway from these for a very long time. Hope this helps and please let us know what you think of them if/when you get them. HH -Marc

I have the SunRays as well. Great tone with everything you want on a great pair of headphones. Those Koss have good sound ..... but the dummys put a straight plug on them and not enough cable.... it pulls and WILL break the cable casing. Mine did it in a month and i can tell you there is no need to contact KOSS. You are thinking correctly..... the BEST thing they have done for our detectors lately have been improved coils and HEADPHONES.

Well,

I guess I will be the odd duckling out, I love the auvio ear buds... Just like Bryce said about owning 3 pairs of sunrays, I own 3 pairs of the auvio wireless ear buds. No lag, no cord and fit snug inside your ear (comes with different size inserts), plus the volumn control is powerful enough to makes your ears bleed :) Also for some strange reason more woman approach me while digging with them on

Auvio wireless ear buds, Detecterx approves this message.

I'm also using wireless ear buds now. I changed from headphones because of having to deal with the cord. I first tried the wireless headphones but they soon malfunctioned so I went with the ear buds and so far haven't had any bad experiences with them.
