Question For Those Who Have Been Here For Many Year.......

I found this forum quite a few years ago and joined. Posted fairly often. Got busy, lost interest and drifted away. Then, when I came back I couldn't remember my password and signed up with a different ID. Hung around for a little while and got really busy and didn't have time to be on here much... and drifted away. Came back a year ago this past September and went through the process of a different ID. It will soon be a year and a half that I've been back, and this time it's for keeps. Now, I said all of that to say this (or ask this question); Those of you that were part of the forum years ago, do you remember a guy named Tom? He was always posting stories, and pictures of his finds and sites from where he was digging privies. He is the one who got me into privy/cistern/cellar digging and dump diving. I think of him from time to time but don't know what ever happened to him. Just wondering if any of you remember him or know where he disappeared to. Not that Tom and I were friends or anything - we weren't, I just kind of became his "student" by following his every post and using the techniques he talked about. I'm not looking to get in touch with him or anything like that, I'm just wondering what happened to him since I haven't seen anything from him in years and years. Thanks to Tom, and the interest he sparked in me, I have quite a collection of bottles and other things I've dug up through the years. When I'm teaching - :-( miss it so much - I always haul some of my bottles to school to share with my students.

Did he sign Tom - or something else ? I have been here longer than anyone and can't remember him. Steve in so az

Yes, he did sign Tom. I'm wondering if he might have signed Tom in IL. I don't remember for sure. He talked more about privy digging than anything else. He was always offering advice on how to find old privy sites, the methods he used for digging, and would post pictures of the sites while he was digging them, along with what he was pulling out of the holes. Like I said, he is the one that got me interested and got me to digging.

Tommy popcorn? Steve and I are the vets here, and that is the only Tom I remember. If that is him, he just disappeared one day and from time to time someone asks about him but know one seems to know. From one bottle digger to another I can point you in the right direction.

No, I remember Tommy Popcorn, too. Seems like I remember someone saying one time that he got involved in some kind of Civil War stuff, or something, and moved on to that. The guy I'm talking about was a middle age, nice looking guy, and when he posted, it was mostly about his privy finds.

Just how long have you been on this forum? I figure I've been here about 6 years or so....

I was pretty forum active back then but I don't remember a Tom... must be before my time.

You old enough to remember that :) I don't know exactly how long I have been here - I do remember telling Mike about a neat new forum for Christians so he's close to my time also.
I was set to detect this morn but it's raining !! Steve

I think it is about 10 years now. Yes Steve told me about this web site and it has been my home ever since. We have made many new friends over the years, seen some go home to be with the Lord, and some just up and disappear. You will notice my profile shows much less time, but that is because I made a new profile.

Yep, remember that one

Well, I guess I'm a newbie at 5 years (although I thought I started in '94)
