Question on the T 2 se.

Well-known member
In the bp mode can 3 and 4 tones be used? I am thinking that I saw that 3 and 4 tones are only available in the standard mode. Thank you. HH jim tn

BP is only 2+ mode .

Keith what is the procedure for using cache mode?
In the manual it says to put it in cl mode, them switch to all metal....I dont get it.Can you use cache in the disc mode?

Jim 2+ mode is my favorite...Its all you really need...
Very stable detector for this kind of sensitivity..

but the target response will be slowed way down and recovery time from target to target...

the true essence of cache hunting is usually extreme depth like 2+ feet on a mason jar or even a hoard in a clay pot....and that would be better accomplished with true all metal mode with a slow retune threshold wise and response time.....

the Bp mode is geared for the disc mode allow's depth in that mode and is quicker than CL yet still slower than stock mode but allows the disc circuit to function properly...
the Cl mode works disc but it's really not this mode's forte and react's better in an all metal mode...

I like BP all metal mode myself for real deepies becasue that m,ode retunes quick enough to smooth the harsh ground out and also allows me to raise the coil to keep my threshold from getting annoying over varied mineralized ground...

So the BP mode works good for disc and all metal Cl is geared more for ultra deep all metal threshold based mode listening for a slight threshold variation..(Proper coil control is a must in that mode and something few people will ever grasp fully ....very specialized type hunting in that mode and a lot of patience especially in mineral)

Now I have heard the small coil on the T-2 in CL mode in disc works iron pretty good? I dont know I have never tried it...

But working dense iron with a T-2 seems to work better in normal than BP mode ...as long as you can get the coil to the soil...

I believe the biggest advantage to BP is the air gap it allow's...when scrubbing the ground I don't think a lot of depth is gained from stock to BP but put some grass or pine straw and in becomes evident quickly the BP mode is doing something...

heck BP even airtest into space so it must like air.... I bet it opens up some arid type field's in this mode...

CL mode ought to make a great artillery shell hunter....I will let you know more about that in about a month...(dang deer Hunter's)

The bp and cl modes of the se sound very much like how they react with the F 75 LTD. I dug some really deep targets with the F 75 LTD over the weekend hunting over weeds, brush and several inches of freshly dropped leaves. Thanks Keith. HH jim tn

Very in depth answer Keith. Now you might find this funny, but i have had the T2 detector for almost a year and now the SE and i have never used
ALL METAL MODE..
Could you give me some basic step by step instructions on how to go about using ALL METAL MODE in general. And also instructions on how to use cache mode in all metal..I have a particular old colonial farm i would like to use the cache mode. Its just woods and a cellar hole..No modern trash..No trash at all but was a very busy place from the late 1600's to the early 1800's...
Thanks everyone for all your advice and help..

Sounds like a dream site johnnybegood, I always wanted to find a site like that. Have you found any goodies on it yet?

I have found over 100 mostly colonial, some federal period buttons and relics at this site...
Its amazing this site is a 2 mile hike into the deep woods and nobody goes out there hardly ever now..
To find all this stuff in such an area tells me that in the 1700s there must have been alot of activity out there...Today its just abandoned woods...
Makes you wonder....
Thats why i need to learn how to use the cache mode on my T2SE..........Anyone????

Did you ever get this figured out.

If it is like the F75 LTD you just switch to CL mode while in disc, then switch to AM. You can do a fastgrab or manual GB in AM anytime. Regular mode requires a faster swing for better TID on deeper targets. I like BP on the F and I assume I would like BP on the T2 SE also. I like it because of the air gap you can use and not lose depth but mostly because I can swing it slower... which brings me to CL mode... the only real difference between using BP and CL is that in CL you swing even slower, more like a Sovereign because of it's slow recovery.

So, I think that is the main thing for you to remember if cache hunting a colonial site. Disc>switch to CL>switch to AM>GB>set sensitivity as high as you think workd well>swing slow>GB often.

But you get much deeper with the cl mode.....Right?

I think it is to get deeper on larger targets. I like BP on my F75 LTD.
