Whats the width of the smallest strip of grass between the sidewalk and the curb that you've SUCCESSFULLY hunted and what did you get?

A friend got two Barber Halves about 15 inches from the curb! Curb to sidewalk was about 3 feet. Very old area.
 
Mine would be a toe ring,in a two foot strip,outside a swimming pool area.
 
I have pulled out silver washingtons, silver rings, wwII buttons, wheaties and just about all the other goodies. I love sidewalk strips! HH! The size is usually about 3' wide.
