Question?

I have been looking at the new V3X, and am wondering if the earphones and related coils will work on this new detecter? Like for instance the coils for the v3i and also fron the DFX, I also have a big foot for the DFX and also the hot shot coil and am wondering if these are compatable? To clarify myself related being the earphones and coils from the V3i Thank you

Accessories for the V3i will work on the VX3 and coils from the DFX will work with a few minor problems due to the 22.5 kHz of the V3i and VX3, mostly gain problems. The Bigfoot also has a problem with the higher frequency but works well in single frequency 2.5 and 7.5. Any of the DFX coils with the V in the MFG code on the mounting ear is 100% V3/VX compatible.

If you use a coil that is not V rated the null can vary greatly. Some can run RX15 and some have to run much lower gain or they overload. If you run a non V rated coil and it doesn't overload you will see that if you check your signal % you will see the residual signal level will be higher for the Non V rated coil

The higher the residual signal level, the sooner you will hit an overload. This might mean you'll have to reduce the gain to hunt in severe mineralization. Otherwise, there is no performance degradation. ROB

Thank you for the propt reply, I an\m thinking about getting the the V3X and needed some of my questions answered Thank you

If you have a local dealer it would be helpful to actually gets some hands on before you purchase. I've never bought a car without driving it first. Could be why you see so many top of the line detectors for sale on the classifieds. ROB
