I have the regular T2 and the Safari. My suggestion is you keep them both!
First I have to say that the T2 is an absolute Joy to use HOWEVER!
The Minelab is WAY deeper, more accurate and can be used at the beach in wet sand with no trouble.
The Minelab and the T2 are almost opposites. This is why I like having them both. The T2 is very fast and great for shallow, recent drops where the Minelab is deep and can suck a Mercury dime out of the ground almost a foot down where the T2 won't make a peep.
The T2 is awesome in Tot-Lots, it is super light and can be moved around object quickly and in trashy areas it has an awesome reovery speed but I have missed silver coins with the T2 that the Minelab would scream over.
I like to hit a spot with the T2 a couple times, grab the shallow clad, jewelry and what nots then maybe next time hit it with the Minelab and pull the deep stuff.
If the spot is very trashy the Minelab stays in the car.
If the good finds are typically 6 inches or deeper, the T2 stays in the car and I use the Minelab and work it slow.
Having both detectors is a really nice option.
