Friend of mine lent me his new AT Pro for a week so I could play with it.Very good detector but it has real balance issues will find coins to 8 inches but to condense comparison I will not be buying one.It does remind me of Safari a little bit.to get real depth you will dig a lot of junk and it makes more noise tha Safari.Found a lot of coins with both detectors in junk area only one silver.Safari is better detector I could see no improvement in buying one but would recommend to someone who wants to step up or wants good middle range detector without too much damage to budget.

Ran ATPro against Safari last week 11 hours hunt time.

Yes it is waterproof and that is the only advantage it has over my XT-70/XT705's.
I have had the AT-pro for a little over a week now, have used it almost everyday.
Boy, Minelab has spoiled me, but I needed a waterproof MD cheap and this is what I got.
In that area it fills the bill.
I wish Minelab would come out with a $500 waterproof MD with a visual ID.
I also wish Ronald Reagan was still President!

Back in the '80's, my best friend had a Garretts, and most of our club had Whites. I had a Bounty Hunter Red Baron RB-7. In my opinion, it was an excellent machine. In finds, I could keep up with most of the club. I think it comes down to a basic good machine, operated by people of varying talent, and a propensity for luck. The detectors have good features and their own following, or, we would be down to one, maybe two manufacturers.

I attended at least two Ronald Reagan primary rallies. I sure wish the forums had a "political" section, because I would really like to discuss the conspiracy behind his attempted assassination, and those prominent figures who were involved. The shooter was John HInckley, JR... look up who his father was, John Hinckley, Sr.
I will say no more,as for my first post, I do not want to be accused of hijacking.
Just bought a Safari, and then a X-Terra 705 as a back up, or, companion machine. I cannot wait for a few personal issues to be resolved so that I can rejoin the hobby that I so much loved during the 80's.
