In the pics it looks like the shaft of the handle is open. Is there a way you can close up the end of the round stock to keep out debris? Just a thought.......otherwise looks great and I would even be willing to buy one from you.

The end of the handle is open and could be closed up but then there would have to be a piece cut and welded in which adds more time and cost. I haven't seen a problem with the handle being open and I have dug in some pretty wet dirt. I hose it off when I come home anyway so nothing a quick zap with the water hose won't fix.
