Just found This Gold Coin at a hunted out park in NYC.

It's a Quarter Eagle: Dated 1911... 2 1/2 Dollar, Known as The Indian Type, Minted 1908-1929. I'd grade the coin at a EF condition.

I have been hitting parts of the park that I have had very good finds in all week, but the last 5 hunts were fruitless in terms of Silver and got skunked every time I went out...

So today I decided to go back to an older section of the park that had a lot of action at the turn of the century till the 60's.

The coins below were from different parts of the area where I got the Gold Coin. But, not 5 feet from where I got it, I dug a spill of Barbers. I got four there and and two Mercs and another Barber Dime at another area, as did the Indian was not far from the other Barber I dug.... All in all, what a day... One of the Best Days and Hunts I have ever had...

I went in with the intentions of working around trees as I always dig nickle and pull tab signals no matter how many there are. Today I hit the jack pot. The Lord gave this beautiful 2 1/2 Dollar Gold Indian Type Coin. I was getting very depressed because I had not found a decent target in days. I was zigzagging around tall trees and got this iffy signal at about 5 feet from the base. I had my Explorer XS fully open, no discrimination, and although there was iron around the other signal, that signal was very pretty indeed, but I've had pretty signal like that before, only to dig a nickle or pull top. Well, I final got it out of the hole and used my new probe to locate it in the soil, and low and behold, I could not believe my eyes, I even pitched my self to make sure I wasn't dreaming, nope, not dreaming, it's my first Gold Coin. I thank the Lord for giving that find and the determination to continue hunting when times are bad, I mean real bad.

So, Enjoy ad much as I enjoyed holding this beauty in my hands... HH... and God bless
