Rechargable batteries, do they work on the T2?:please:

is anyne using the NI-MH high capasity rechargable batteries on the T2?
I'm about to get one of this machines for my wife and I was wondering if those rechargable batteries can be use on it, I have other detectors and I can use them okay on them but they use 8 batteries.

Should work just fine. Might not get quite as long life out of a charge as you do from alkalines, but of course the NiMH you can recharge rather than having to throw them away like alkalines.

I got about 22 hours with Energizer 2500 .........could have gone longer I'm pretty sure...

Keep in mind that is only 4 batteries too...........

The only reason is because there is 1.2 volt less with the rechagables, 1.2X4=4.8 volts, agains 1.5X4=6 volts.
but like you said Elton you got 22hrs on them, did you experience any shutting down, rebooting, falsing more than normal, or any deference at all?
one more question is yours the SE? because that uses boost and i'm sure is sucks more juce wille been use in that mode.

I have never experienced any down time with either detector.. Ran ok as far as I knew.. Note I did not check with any meters or waves to see if all was as good as with Alkalines.

I owned the T2. Used high capacity low self discharge Sanyo Eneloop AA's. Worked like a charm. Very reliable batteries. And I also checked with Dave J on rechargeables. No problemo according to Dave. As long as they were high quality. Saved a ton of money

Thank you Terradigger, I just purchase a T2 SE for my wife and She is going to be using rechargable batteries on it. I use them on my other machines as a backup till they are ready to be recharge.
We should receive the T2 by the end of the week and we will start posting any finds here at the forum.
I'm sure we will have some questions about it so I will be requesting your experties on it!!

They are rechargeables so they are starting at 1.2v each battery with somewhat of a charge and when they are fully charged they are 1.5v each battery or a smidge more. This is the voltage we run down our detectors on then the detector tells you it's time for a recharge. I've run 2300's panasonic rechargeables in another brand detector and lasts a good long while.
