remote controlled plane weights ?

It's the first time I've ever found one,let alone a bunch of these type of soft metal weights. They were all found in a section of a county park that allows remote control airplanes to be flown several hundred feet away from the soccer fields. Could they be stabilization weights for the planes or linked to the land when it was farmland ?

Generally you don't want to add any weight to an RC plane. To get a proper CG(Center of Gravity) you move things like the battery around.

I've seen similar weights used by Cub Scouts on Pinewood Derby cars.
