Research = Finding a nice Copper and buttons at a virgin location:twodetecting:

It was another hot sticky and humid day out in the woods. I went back to the foundation that I had discovered last week. and I was able to find another large cent dated 1817 and a bunch of nice buttons.
Research had indicated that there was another foundation in the area. So, when things quieted down at the foundation I was at, I decided to set off in the direction I thought the other one was and eventually found it. However, I didn't have time to detect anymore so I just marked it as a confirmed location on my phone and set off towards home. Or so I thought... I think I have a very good internal compass. But my wires must have been crossed today and so I ended up going in the wrong direction. Being these are new woods to me, I had little to go on as far as the point of reference. So I had to pull out the phone and use the GPS on that point me in the right direction. I slapped myself a couple times so hopefully straighten out the wires, and set out on my way. As luck would have it I discovered another foundation off in the middle of nowhere! Unfortunately I will have to save that one for another day too. so I marked it on the GPS and got home. Overall, a great day in the woods...
On the way home I had time to stop by one of the big landowners in the area that let me detects his farm and found his septic tank cap for him. So, the day is now perfect..

Congrats on all the new finds. I love seeing an old foundation out in the woods. Especially when it's not close to anything else. Less chance of someone else detecting it.

Thanks Folks... Here are my finds all cleaned up

Nice job Gary. Glad you were able to get back out of the woods

Looks like you missed a coin that was lying on top of the 1817 Large Cent. The green on the center of the coins is stronger color than the outside rime. Thyat means another coin was in the hole as well. Just thought I would let you know. Great Finds!!! HH...Jesse.

Another thing that does that is saliva...:heh:

It really brings out the details in the field..

But I will check that hole again just to be sure..
