Research pays off on short hunt

Before going to bed last night I was thinking of where I could go hunting in the morning. Cimarron is a small town about 15 minutes west of dodge. I did a quick bit of research on the schools and found that the "old high school" had been torn down years ago. Sounded like a potentially good site. I printed out a picture showing the grain elevator and a building so I could locate the spot. When I got there the location is now a big lot with rock over most of it, but there was an area with a few big old tress and grass. I spent about 45 minutes hunting and did pretty good. A 1950 Franklin half, a 1914 twenty Centavo, a silver Cubs Scout ring and a brass ring, 2 wheats and a marble. Headed back there tomorrow to see what else is waiting.

I would love to find one of those silver half dollars. Congratulations. That place definitely deserves further investigation.

Which of the U S Protectorates was the 20 Centavos coin from? I have two from PI. One I picked up detecting and one I picked up in change in the PI.

The only silver half I've found is a 64 half.It took me 5 years to find it.I'm jealous but happy for you,HH

Way to go! It pays to do your homework.

Those Franklins are hard to find...congrats!
