Road trip to a POUNDED St. Louis park gave up a $1000 dime.:clapping: A shocker 1916D Merc:yikes:

Thanks my friend.

Phil is usually good for at least one "gooofy" act of some kind each time we hunt.

The funny thing was that he actually took the time between slobbers to warn me that the berries weren't very good...and that they were sour as well as having too many seeds in them:crylol:

Like I was actually thinking of grazing like an animal with him??:crylol:

Whether I found anything or not...to see him doing something so random as picking and eating nasty wild berries when he bent over to dig...was more than worth the price of admission.

Take care buddy

Thanks Mark.

If I'd have known it was a 1916D...I probably wouldn't have thrown it...then banged it off the predator digger...but I couldn't see what I had without my glasses:bouncy:

Take care buddy

Thanks friend.

I wish I could have seen that little "D". Heck...i wish I could have seen the 1916 date:rofl: Maybe then I wouldn't have chucked it 10 feet...then clanked it off my shovel:clapping:

The dime might be worth a thousand, but the experience is priceless. Congratulations Bryce.

I am very interested in this coin. I have a close up of another 1916-D dime found about 6 months ago. If not a hassle do you think you could place a close up pic of the "D". I would like to keep it for my archives for when I purchase my coin. There are many fakes and being that this coin was dug there is very high probability that it is genuine. Are you going to get it certified?
Again nice find, need I say that I am a Jealous dude.

Thanks Kirk.
As for a closeup of the D.....I tried...but it came out all blurry and nasty:thumbdown:

I definitely plan on finding a coin dealer so I can send it off to be authenticated.

I'm not a collector...I just like findin' stuff. No way I'd ever sell it...but I would like to have it slabbed so I can stick it in the bank lockbox so my daughter can have it some day.

WTG Bryce!!!! :clapping:
Thanks for posting your finds and telling the story of the hunt.
Like you said.... the 1916-d merc is sweet, but not as
meaningful as the one you wear around your neck.
Keep on swinging the coil....... Gold Nuggets :wiggle:

I didn't say I was good.........

Hey Bryce.

It was great to hunt with you & Phil & "Nick" on Saturday. After you recovered that dime & we resumed hunting again, I had to go back to that area & "guard" it to keep you guys safe from that "biohazard" that was left there. Glad you & Phil were able to come back Sunday & get a couple of keepers out of that park. There is some really old stuff left in it but it is getting to be a real challenge recovering anything out of it now.

Sunday & yesterday I went home to mom & dad's house & really didn't do much hunting at all. All day both days it seemed it was threatening to rain & I didn't want to venture out very far & get rained out. I did mess around in my parents front yard a bit yesterday & my uncles yard next door. Did manage to get one more wheat out of there before it darkened & looked threatening again.

Hopefully we can get together again before the really hot weather sets in.
