Road trip to a POUNDED St. Louis park gave up a $1000 dime.:clapping: A shocker 1916D Merc:yikes:

Thanks DoubleD. That 6 x 8 SEF is a hot little dude:thumbup:
I think you'll like it.,

I hope you pop out some goodies buddy.

Would post a pic but I'm up north on dial up.

Didn't think AG-3 was worth that much. Or are you just rounding to the nearest $1K?

Chris

I'm not sure why you would want to insert a pic of the one you found...into my post...and I'd rather you don't....but I'm happy for you that you found one. It's a feeling I will never forget....and I hope it gave you the same thrill it did me.

I have probably received 20 PM's or more with people offering their thoughts on the value....condition...etc.

I appreciate them doing so....but I'm not a coin collector...dealer...or grader...so to be perfectly honest....I couldn't care less what it's worth. I only care about the thrill it was to find it....and the memories it provided me and my buddies with....and how it turned me into a little kid. That's what it's all about for me.

From all I've been told by everyone...it could be AG...or G-4...or a "slider" somewhere inbetween. In either or any case ...I was told by everyone it was worth anywhere from $700 to as high as $1500 in the condition shown. Sounds like a $1000 dime to me:)

It's a good thing it wasn't in nicer condition:smoke:...especially since I threw it....carried it between clad quarters...and clanked it off the predator digger:cool:

Take care Chris...and congrats on the 1916 D you found.

Bryce just wanted to say congrats again on a find of a life time  I'm glad we was there to see it come out of the ground:surprised:wow I'm still in shock. I had a lot of fun met some new Friends played ski pong with a rare coin geeze can you believe we did that .And the look on nicks face when he said dude i think its a f ing D :puke: was awesome. So the next time you go road tripping dont forget your Himalayan buddy, as soon as these Berry's clear my system I'll be ready to go...HH...THE YETI.

Except I ric'd it slightly. Also had to wait to get home and get on a pair of magnifiers to verify the "D". This getting older thing. I don't know.

Heckuva a find and have only seen 2 or 3 others in the years I've been perusing the forums.

Chris

I don't have any problems seeing the detector...the ground...or the turf in front of me:smoke:

The only problem I have is seeing the little stinkin' letters and dates on the coins I find:crylol:

Take care buddy

I hope we get to do it again before long...but with my crappy schedule...your crappy schedule...and my dad's health....we might be stuck begging for a wheatie at our depleted parks again:confused:

Regardless...we'll have fun though...whether we find anything or not.

Just so we leave Dan at home though.:smoke: Geez...if one of us happens to find a wheatie...he's liable to turn into "Roller Derby boy" again and run us over getting to our spot:bouncy:

That feller' moves quick...and I mean lightnin' quick:crylol:

Just kiddin' ya' Dan.:beers: ....you were a blast buddy.

We had so many goofy moments that weekend..and that's what it's all about.

I couldn't figure out why the detector makers couldn't realize this is not a young mans hobby. Most of us need reading glasses after age 40. Congrats on that once in a lifetime dime!

But you got the silver thumb, great story and banging that park like you did. Way to go Bryce. Best of Luck To You.

WoW! Bruce, nice going.

Hey, Congrads on the Merc! Thank you for sharing your story and pics really enjoyed them, You are a Blessed person, And I can see many more great finds coming. Congrads Again. kinkachulou

It;s more skill with Bryce than luck that is for sure, Like Booby Fischer said in chess, "the lucky person always wins."
