Road trip to a POUNDED St. Louis park gave up a $1000 dime.:clapping: A shocker 1916D Merc:yikes:

Bryce - Don't get onto the Explorer forum much, but I did tonight and I've got to give you a hearty congratulations!

A lot of folks here speak very highly of you not only as a dirt fisher but as a person, and it's always enjoyable to see good things happen to good people.

That is a find you'll treasure forever.

I'm glad you visited the forum Marcomo...and thanks for the kind words. They mean a lot to me.
Take care and good luck on your next hunt.

Thanks Kinkachulou.

I'm glad I found this wonderful hobby as a goofy little kid back in the early 70's.

Now it's nearly 40 years later...and I turn into the same goofy little kid if I'm lucky enough to see silver shinin' at the bottom of the hole.:clapping:

Take care...and good luck on your next hunt

I think it's a nice 50/50 luck/skill split with me Lonnie:detecting:...but I appreciate what you said.

The Yeti kept telling me to buy a lottery ticket after I found the 1916D:crylol:

I haven't been online in a while so I thought I would check things out this morning. I am so happy for you Bryce. I really enjoyed your post and felt like I was on the hunt with you. That 1916 D Mercury dime is a coin on everyone's dream list including mine.
That Yeti guy seems like he would be fun to hunt with and the spot taker guy would be too.

Thanks Kennon.

The Yeti is always good for a laugh or 2.

As for Dan the "spot taker guy"....he's pretty fun to hunt with too....until he worms into your spot:crylol:

thats AWESOME BRYCE, the same time you was there there was a bunch of guys hunting around the airport, i was invited but couldnt make it. any ways you did a lot better then them congrats once again

Thanks bswift.

I wish I could come that way more often but unfortunately my work schedule doesn't allow for many road trips.

Good luck to you on your next hunt.

A person just never knows what the ground will give up next. That gives us all hope for something like this find Bryce-IL.
Sounds like your friends were just as happy as you were and that makes the moment even better

Thanks dippo.

I always say...and it's the truth...I don't care whether I find anything or not...or who finds what. It's all about the fun to me...and being able to share it with friends.

There are a few times when I just need to get away and be by myself too though. I can put the headphones on and the daily grind goes away.

This is just a great hobby.

Thanks John....but I was just a man lucky enough to have my coil pass over the target....and even luckier that I was able to interpret what the SE was telling me.
I would have been just as thrilled if it was a '64 merc....well almost as thrilled:biggrin:

Take care John...and thanks for responding

Thanks for reminding me Kennon. I have to delete a bunch of messages about every 3 days or it gets full.

That's okay though...'cause people are welcome to pm anytime they want to.

Bryce you may never find a gold coin but if there is one person that could find the best mercury dime...it's you.
Sorry I didn't respond sooner but I've been on the road for the last 10 days.
Let me know if you would like to hunt for a while this weekend. Congratulations again on the rare dime.
