Russian Navy - Somsali Piratee = Justice

RUSSIAN NAVY CAPTURES SOMALI PIRATES

This videotape shows Russian Navy commandos on a Somali pirate ship shortly after the pirates had captured a Russian oil tanker. The Euro Union navy that patrols these waters would not interfere because they feared there could be casualties.

All explanations are in Russian with a few exceptions when a wounded pirate says something in English and the Russian soldier comments. All conversations between the commandos are in Russian; however, the pictures speak for themselves. The soldiers freed their compatriots and the tanker.

After capture, the Russian Navy Commandos moved the pirates back to the pirate ship, searched the pirate ship for weapons and explosives, and then they left the ship and exploded it with all remaining pirates hand-cuffed to it. The commandos sank the pirate ship along with the pirates, and without any court proceedings, lawyers etc. That is, they used the anti-piracy laws of the 18th and 19th centuries where the captain of the rescuing ship has the right to decide what to do with the pirates. Usually, they were hung.

From now on, I suspect Russian ships might not be targets for Somali pirates.

I have heard no outcry about this but if it had been a Western European country or Israel I'm sure the media would have had a circus...

These guys are ones you don't want to piss off. Not because of their training but because they are able to show no emotion. They will slit someones throat and not feel a bit of "right or wrong" It's about time somebody stepped up to the plate beside the USA and kicked some pirate A**.

we turn them loose because of the PC crowd. You can bet the Pirates will avoid any flying a Russian Flag now. They are crooks on the high seas and should be treated that way. That is the way the boats full of drugs in the Gulf should be treated, in my view

the marines did kick there butts. but only after the us had payed ransom for years.some times we do get a decent president but it sure has been along time.

I was in Galveston Texas awhile back. The Coast Guard were run around in Zodiacs with twin 50's frout and back. A few small cargo ship with door with the bottom 3 feet the below water line and 5 or 6 Zodiacs it would not take long to stop that S--T.
