S.E.F & Pro Coils - Weight VS. Performance Question ?

E-Trac-Ohio

Like many of you I've read a lot of great reports on the different sizes of S.E.F. coils - so I've decided to order a 10 X 12 for my machine.
Since weight is always a big factor - from what I've read - the weight of the 11" Pro-Coil is approx. 19 oz. and the 10" x 12" S.E.F comes in approx. 23 oz.

Here was my thought / question ... Both of these coils are just about the same in size - so where's the extra 4 oz. coming from ?
The plastic looks a little heavier on the S.E.F - but could it be that there's a little heavier core inside ( more coil inside the coil ) and that's why a lot of people feel that the S.E.F.'s are out performing the stock Pro Coils ? It would seem - if more mass was inside the coil itself - it would perform better - right ?

Anyway - maybe one of you tech guy's could give us your comments.

Thanks --- Mark

I have been using the 10X12 for a while now and it does just fine. It is heavier but seems more solid. I had mostly used the X-12 which I still have on the SE. I don't notice a huge difference between the three coils except for the weight of the SEF. They are all real good.
