Safari and X-5 question

acasto

New member
When you are using the X-5 coil on your Safari to pick through the trashy areas, do you also run it in High trash mode?
I am thinking that since it is a smaller coil, and you are moving a little slower, it would be fine to stay in low trash to keep the target ID a little more accurate.

Am I on the right track here?

Thanks
Tony

Thats how I run My 6x8 SEF only go to high trash if you have to run sensitivity in manual if you can let me know how you do with X5.

If there is enough trash to use your X-5 you may need to be in high trash. But like everything else whatever works for you in your ground and for you is where to set your machine. HH :minelab:

Thanks for the help. Hit a spot the other dayn that was full of trash, but dated back to 1884 as a school site.
I was using my X-8, in low trash. Will go back when the X-5 gets here.

Go back with your X-8 but change to high trash. Your recovery will be faster and you can swing faster. That X-8 separates very good and it's depth is almost as good as the pro-coil. Did you read the field test results on the X-5&X-8 on the Sun-Ray forum? If you did'nt check them out. Bryce Brown did a very informative test on those coils. Good Luckand HH. :minelab:

reltolbert,
The X-5 cord can be put thru the shaft but you need to tie a long shoe or boot
lace to the connector end of the cord and pull it thru.
