I'm sorry to hear that. Patience is a virtue when it comes to this machine. Read some of the posts that were written as other fellow detectorists have gotten to know their machines a little better. The more hunting grounds I detect the more I learn. Different soil conditions, clean areas, trashy areas, cellar holes, school yards, fields, parks, etc. If I can give you any encouragement, it would be to hang in there and learn the machine, and use the resources that are available to you. I myself am going to purchase Andy Sabisch's book " Mastering the Minelab Quattro". A few people have suggested it and have gotten some good tips, even making a few custom programs of their own. I've gone through some of the safari syndrome myself from confusion to frustration, from hate to love. It may not be as easy to use as other detectors at first, but when you start finding things every time out I think you may have a change of heart. Don't give up this gem of a detector yet, good things are just around the corner!!!
