Safari headed to Minelab for repair

I went to a spot I was waiting all a summer to be hayed and started detecting. All of the sudden my machine display started flickering quickly with a ticking sound, shut off, turned back on by itself, then started the disturbing process again. I tried everything to diagnose it myself. But even with no coil attached it started again after shortly working correctly. I was devastated. Its getting close to fall here in NH, some of the best detecting all year, I went right home and called Minelab, they said its definitely got an issue I can't fix. I must say they were awesome! They emailed me a shipping label at no cost to me. Thank Goodness for their new transferable warranty! They made it so easy. I will keep you up to date on how things go. If anyone has had a similar issue with their machine or feedback on Mine labs service I'd love to hear it. Luckily my mother has a cute little xterra 30 I can use till my baby come back!

Darn the bad luck. Hope they get it taken care of fast for you.

I had a similar problem, with mine it kept shutting off for no reason, I would turn it on & it would be ok for a while then shut off. I found out the problem was a small sliver of the plastic label on one battery had separated & was laying across the bottom of the battery, I removed the sliver of label & it has been fine. Sounds like yours may be something different, mine would shut off but not turn on by itself

I hope they return it soon. That is nice to know that MineLab stands behind their product. Go to your local dealer, maybe they can loan you one, for a few bucks.
Good Luck

Jim
