HAd a hr to kill this morning, so back to a turn of the century meadow I've hunted many times before in the past...Get a solid hit and a reading of 29 about 8 inches down.. HMMMM, 29 has never been a coin before, but what the Helle I dig.... DIg, dig, DIg somemore.. finally clump of dirt in my hand reveals a 1897-s barber quarter!!! Whoa... stick pinpointer back down in hole and it sounds off again.. Dig, dig dig... and now have either a shield or V nickle in my hand.. ( its soaking in the Katchep bath now )..

Quarter grades good cond.. date and mint mark are very clear, no liberty in headband showing tho.... Anyhow, coin book says its worth about 65 bucks.. I'll take it!!

Keep diggin. Mark ( ohio )
