Safari VID numbers crazy?

Ok I was doing some air testing of vid on the Safari. Why do silver halves and dollars show much lower than dimes and quarters? Makes no sense to me.

I know...I scanned several different coins. Ones I've found and others I've had for years. Morgan's are 34, barber half 37, walker half 37.. dimes 37-38. I've done a noise cancel and using the 8*6 coil.

I found that the smaller coils give lower numbers to different coins. My sunray 5 inch gives lower numbers and my 10 in. FBS coil is giving the right numbers. So what I do is just adjust to what it's telling me. and find dimes at 36 instead of 38. I found that there was no problem with either coil.

I found hunting or air testing in low trash mode that the tid is more consistent than in high trash mode. In high trash,a different set of algorithm is used for the cpu resetting quicker for the next target.

My surface tested Morgans read low 30s also.
