Braved the cold today and managed to dig some nice lead. Also dug a Smith Carbine a1st for me cool looking bullet. Thanks for looking.

Nice finds. Smiths are few and far between these days.

The other bullets are Richmond Labs correct?

Yes, Richmond Labs Sharps. Nice finds.

So jealous of you guys out east. California sucks for relics and well... pretty much anything before the 1900's. I've found more Indian artifacts with my plow and tractor than relics with my Safari. Ha

Run out to Sutters Mill and ask around for permission to hunt.

Lot's of relics and the occaisional nugget...

I find the same lead around a civil war site is it junk?

American Civil War bullets are valued from about $1.50 each for the common three groove varieties up. The rarer varieties can go for $500 to $1000 and the most I have personally seen spent was $3500.00 for an extremely rare non-dug .52 cal Gardiner Explosive bullet in pristine condition.

Check with someone that knows CW lead before you consider them junk.

Thank you very much. I know most people don't like to post extra info on where to go. I will try it out and let you know.
