Scored a Presidential dollar and then some..

Drove by one of my parks the other day and noticed the concession trailer was present so this evening before supper I sauntered over there for about 45-50 minutes and hunted the grass in front of the concession trailer and came up with this little pile plus the dollar for close to four bucks.

Yeah many years ago I was hunting around this concession stand that had a big oak platform about ten feet by six feet in front of the stand for customers to stand on. As I eye balled that puppy I bet myself nobody had ever lifted it up and looked underneath. It weighed a ton but I muscled that sucker up and leaned it against the concession stand, I could see many coins just laying on the ground. I don't recall the exact amount but I pulled between ten to fifteen bucks from underneath that puppy. That made my day.

Hey I hope you find a ton of them. I wish the gilly arsed public would stop hoarding them. I'm hoping this lousy economy will force them to kick a few loose. Over the past few years I have picked up about 50 of them ( mostly SACS ) minus what I have given away as gifts. I've been thinking of running another contest of some sort and giving away one of my silver SACS as a prize.

Wish I could find as many of those as I do quarters then it would be more interesting. If I recall right, the most I have found at once were three. I keep dreaming of finding a roll. HA. Only found two or three complete rolls of coins in all my years of hunting. One was a roll of silver quarters laying under a flattened out beer can. The can was full of probe holes but no one before me had gumption enough to dig it up and find what was underneath. WAy back when I first started in the hobby I found a roll of Buffalo nickels in a park in Yuba City, California. Thought I had struck it rich, being a newbie. HA.

There is nothing more lovely than to see a parks concession stand with lots of people spending money.

It is even better when the summer festivals and celebrations are going on too!
