Sealing your coil cover

I seal the gap between the coil and coil cover on all my coils before ever being used. Will prevent the dust and dirt from getting in and keeps the bottom of your coil like new. If you ever need to replace the cover you just cut the seal and redo it. Thanks for looking.

Heres an example from when i did my E-Trac coils.

Before drying...

After drying...

My 6x8 SEF, it has been sealed, you just have to look closely to see it...

This is what you want to use, it can be found at Menards or Lowes for a few dollars. You dont want silicone cause it will stay rubbery dust and dirt will stick to it and it will eventually wear off...

Thanks for the tip. I just sealed mine with the clear silicone but next time around I'll try this product.
Some don't like to seal the coil cover and I don't most time. But I do on my water machines and just did it on my Troy coils. The Troy covers don't fit as well as they might (because they are so thin?), and are irreplaceable because they are no longer made.

Thankyou. Yah i tried silicone once and it doesnt look near as good or last long. I found this stuff and it works perfect.

I use a Hot glue gun, The stick type, Makes a great seal and you can just peel it off with your finger nail and no residue if ya want to sell, Or just to check it.:clapping: Works the charm. Jay

It certainly looks a very nice job, must admit in all the years that i have been detecting have never used a coil cover,of course this is just my personal choice and not generally adviced but as yet have never had any problems and never worn a coil out yet, only one that had me thinking of using one was the Hotshot coil on the DFX as that is made of ultra thin plastic i guess too save weight.
