Seated Lightning Strikes Again !!!

Ed (Upstate NY)

Back to the same area of the park that has been producing well paid off again today.
Until this year, I had only found 2 seated liberty coins with my Explorer. I was even shut out in 2001 and 2002. In the last 4 weeks I have been lucky enough to dig 3 seated liberty dimes and a seated quarter. The latest was today's 1856 (oldest seated liberty dime I've dug) found close to a power transformer that causes all kinds of havoc with the Explorer. I was lucky to hear a good tone over the constant interference from the transformer. Also nailed an 1882 Indian head in the same area. The rest of the mornings finds included 1896 and 1905 Indian heads cents and a few wheat cents. Yesterday I dug the 1873, 1890 and 1905 Indian head cents in the same general area that Charles and I have been pounding for the last few weeks.

Gotta love pulling those seated coins from the ground! I love finding the old U.S. coinage....although I don't often here. The most common U.S. coin I find is by far indian heads. I've picked up about 20 here this year...3 barbers dimes...a standing liberty quarter...a couple buffalo nickles...a couple V nickles...half a dozen mercs...3 U.S. large cents...2 seated dimes, and a half dime!? I'm still waiting to find a barber quarter! Still got a couple months to go I hope!

Keep up the great finds!

Great finds Ed! Congrats on the Seated's. Keep up the great work. Seems like you have your own seated park now!

It's time for me to fire up the XS and start posting!

I was thinking about heading back to that spot today but alas I installed 7 of my 22 new windows instead. Did you try the small coil there yet? Incredible how the coins just keep popping up. Nice finds!
