I am new to this forum and this may have already been asked, but here goes: Is the 10X12 SEF coil better than the stock FBS coil?

on the E-Trac forum.....
I have heard the 10 x 12 sef coil might be a tad better in iron......that the 11" pro coil...

I too would like that answered. Thats something I plan to work on now that I have the new Etrac. I can say that so far each coil seems to run at the same sensitivity level in Auto +3. I also noticed that the SEF is and feels heavier but it is a bigger coil.

The thing I do like about the SEF is that because I like to "Scrub" the grass, the SEF is easier to work in grass. It doesn't "Catch" on the grass as much as the Pro coil.

I am going out tomorrow and if I find a deep good target with the Pro coil I will switch to the SEF and see what it tells me.

The ultimate pretty much lives on the E-Trac these days and runs higher sens in Auto +3 on the same sites. Usually 3 to 4 higher. Really hits hard on good targets.

I have put one on mine, recently i found my first indian head penny in a much hunted area. I do not think i will put my stock coil back on.

Not better or worst when original, to understand any different or at all you need more experience.
