Seven Silver Day

Ohio bud

New member
I went back to a church school behind a very old church. I had been waiting for the ground to get wet and since it rained last night, I figured I would give it a try. I started at one end behind the sidewalk and found their buried sprinkler head. The next signal about 6 inches away was a Merc and the ground was like a rock. Guess the rain didn't help, but I decided to detect some more. About 5 feet away was another Merc. In front of the sidewalk, I hit a Washington Quarter and another Merc. I got another signal that I thought would be another Merc and was surprised to find a Rosie in the bottom of the 8 inch hole. I thought that I could hear the difference so I probed around the hole and got a nice high Merc sound on the side, but only 2 inches deep and pulled out the Merc. I have ordered the Kodak video camera and wish I had it for this find. Before you think I am nuts, I think that the Rosies sound louder and slightly higher pitch than Mercs. Ended up with six silver there. I drove to an old Cleveland and when I arrived found a new school where the old one was. The back yard had large trees, so I gave it a try. It was mostly all screwed up by the contractors. I don't understand why the have to screw with the grass 300 feet from the school. It was mostly broken concrete and junk, but I did pull another Rosie. I tried another school where I had found silver, but it was very difficult because they had spread ashes from the boiler all over the play area. I found that the E-Trac was very quiet and stable, but I just didn't go anything of mention. This is a fun hobby.

I've dug Rosies and Mercs that sounded like wheaties, and I've dug memorial pennies that sounded like perfect silver dimes. You just never know....if it sounds good, go for it!

Congrats on a great day!!!
