Met up with a pretty good feller" today to do a little diggin'...and he got to meet my hunting buddy Hercules:angel:

We had no choice but to pound this old sad park one more time.:bouncy:

I didn't care if I found anything or not...I was just looking for some peace and relaxing hunt time with a really good guy.

Guvner met me here a couple of time last year and some trophy coins used to surface...but those days have looooong passed.:detecting:

I hunted over 2 hours before I dug my first coin...and it turned out to be a 9" deep memorial cent in fill dirt:crylol:...so we moved to a different spot.
Notice I don't show a pic of that great find:rofl:

Another 30 minutes passed before I finally got a peep through the falsing and nulling that caught my attention.

From right at 10" down came the seated dime. I knew I had silver when it came out...but had no idea what it was until Roy looked at it. You see...he had on some glasses...but I didn't:crylol:...he also rubbed most of the mud off before we could see the date.

After that... nothing more...but at least I did get one sweet keeper...and got to meet and hunt with a fellow hunter from the forum:cheers:

After that I headed home...but decided to take the long way and hit one more park.

After an hour or so I got a very deep, goofy sounding signal that I thought had a shot at being an injun'.

I dug a very deep plug in the moist, muddy ground...but the probe was still sounding off to the bottom side....so I had to widen the hole some.

BEFORE some of you hammer me:cool: for digging a nasty hole:biggrin:....please realize this ground had been plowed in the recent past and there was NO way to properly cut a plug. I had no choice but to dig it out in clumps and pile it on my towel in order to PROPERLY fill and repair the hole once I was done.

From very DEEEEEP as the pics show...out came this clump with a gorgeous GREEN as green gets....Injun' sticking out the side:thumbup:

I normally don't take my camera with me...but had it today so I could take a pic of Roy...so I grabbed it and snapped the 3 shots of this baby.

As you can see...the depth was well over the length of the probe....and you can clearly see the detail of the feathers in the headdress from 3 feet away:surprised:

I have this critter soaking in olive oil right now...so maybe after a few days I can post some pics of how it came out.

To hunt the whole day for 2 coins...oh yeah...3 if you count the 9" deep memorial cent:smoke:...might not seem worth it to some of you...but it sure was fun.:super:

I'll say this again too...it seriously wouldn't have mattered if the silver would have been a roosie instead of a seated.....SILVER is SILVER...and I'd have been just as happy:)

After the long day...my buddy Hercules hit his bed pillow at the bottom of the stairs while I typed up my post.:)

Glad you found a couple of keepers Bryce.
Congrats on the seated dime and the IH cent.
Man, that puppy was GREEEEN. Hope you
can post some before and after pics when you
get it outta the bath. Gold Nuggets:wiggle:

Great finds Bryce,
A day with a hunting partner,Hercules, and finding a couple oldies is a good day.
Were you as worn out as herc?

Harold Reese

You're right, Bryce! Just being out there and swinging your machine with a fellow detectorist who shares in your passion and excitement is the real prize.

Nice seated and injun by the way. :wiggle: Yep, that injun looked to be a REAL DEEPIE!!

Congrats,
CAPTN SE
Dan

Nice finds Bryce !! You seem to be able to suck those seateds and IHs out from where they're hidin' !
What you say is true: Just being out there is sometimes what it's all about. I don't have alot of free time being self employed - just being out there is a kind of "therapy" for me. I do alot of thinking while I'm swingin', and getting some vitamin D at the same time is a good thing. Having a good hunting buddy to share the excitement with is great.

and wiping out most of the details:cool:...I decided to not even touch this injun' with any water...and just let it soak.

I did notice a few minutes ago that the first two numbers on the date are 19....so nothin' special:confused:

For now though...it's just gonna' soak. I'm just curious to see what detail it has after soaking considering how sweet it looked when it was sitting in the clod.

Thanks for responding Chris.

I'm self employed too...and hunting is therapy...peace...and relaxation for me. A time frame where I can clear my head and enjoy...at least as long as Guvner isn't there to annoy me:cool:

more time to drive and meet people...but my personal hunt time is so limited.

I have been doing so much testing over the last many months that actually just getting out there with a buddy to hunt...has been hard.

I've met up with at least 10 forum members over the last year or so...and always had a great time.

I've even noticed that I have a good time with Guvner...as long as I can keep from wanting to knock his teeth out.

As long as he doesn't find much...it's okay...but if he finds something...you're screwed.:bouncy:

He's been known to actually stop right in the middle of the road...hold up traffic..then hold his find out the window...while waving it at you...and yelling:lmfao:

That whole machine probably weighed less than my coil cover...seriously...it was light as a feather.

Roy likes it so far...so we'll see how it plays out.

we'll meet at the same place and just have fun... whether we dig anything or not:thumbup:

Good friends are few and far between...and I'm pretty pick with who I associate with (other than Guvner of course:biggrin:)...but you feller'...I consider my friend:angel:

Bryce, you were hunting some tough spots. Congrats on pulling keepers out of those places. I haven't found a Seated Dime yet. Maybe one day.... Congrats on the Indian too. I hope you post a pic of it after you clean 'er up.

I also just enjoy getting out there and hunting. The worst thing that can happen is you might get skunked (like I did yesterday  We've got some tough parks here too!). But you also get fresh air, sunshine and exercise. It's all good. Dan

That is what it is about guys. Good friends and a trustworthy companion.
You also made some good finds which makes the icing on the cake.
Your a seated coin magnet Bryce. Come visit us here and let Herk run the beach with you.
Probably no seated here on the beaches but we'll have some good hunting.

WTG bryce nice too see your still digging those deep silver coins hopefully i can pull some silver this summer.
