Went out to my favorite "hunted out" field today. Same old story...been hunted by dozens for decades and still gives it up when you're willing to work for it. I had the Exelerator 12.5" coil on the Ex2 and was grid-walking the large and freshly mowed field. My first pull was a '41 Merc, which is cool because I've snagged MANY bullets and buttons in this field over the years but darn few coins. Like 1 large cent, 1 Merc, and 1 Barber dime. And a wheat or two. The coins here are few. And yet, we all managed to miss this one somehow. Not today.
I also got 2 musket balls and a 3-ringer mini. I probably covered about half of the field. I know there are a few more good digs there.
Here are a few pics:
First signal...looking good!

Out pops a merc...a WELL WORN and probably "fertilizered" Merc.

She ain't pretty, but she's MINE.

Next dig was a musket ball, followed by another a little while later...

Classic 3-ringer (or zinc penny) reading, but I knew...

And a nice one she is...
